Ceilidh for Annie
29 October 2022
Starts: 19:00
Ends: 22:30

CEILIDH for ANNIE – a ceilidh in memory of Dr Anne Ince with the CASK STRENGTH CEILIDH BAND.

The Cask Strength Ceilidh Band, based in Glasgow, combines the famous Highland box-and-fiddle duo of John Somerville and Adam Sutherland, with the mighty rhythm section of Hamish Napier and Stevie Fivey. Between them they have visited over fifty countries worldwide playing to audiences at concerts, major music festivals, national radio and TV, corporate events and weddings.

Anne Ince lived in Auchtermuchty, Fife and worked as one of the local G.P.s there. She was a wonderful lady, and a great friend to many people, with a talent for inspiring and organising parties and get togethers, and for making new friends. She loved the outdoors and first stayed in a caravan at Forsay, Glenuig in the 1980s. With her husband Nick and her family they put their own caravan on the site and made it a perfect holiday destination - a home away from home.

Anne lived with cancer for many years, bringing her own confident, positive, hopeful outlook to her illness. She celebrated her 70th birthday with a garden party just months before she died in 2021.

This ceilidh has been organised as a tribute to Anne and her love of getting together with good friends. Can't remember your ceilidh steps or you are new to ceilidh dancing? ...Don't worry, the band will talk you through all the dances!
